How to Start Journaling When You Don’t Know What to Write
I started journaling during one of the hardest, most confusing times of my life. I was overwhelmed, exhausted, and searching for answers.
Life Felt Heavy… and I needed something to turn to. It was 2020, I was trying to work on my fashion business during the start of a pandemic while feeling the stress to “figure it all out.” Except, I didn’t feel clear. I barely felt connected to myself…
One night, after feeling completely overwhelmed, I turned to Google for answers hoping something would tell me what to do next.
The Video That Changed Everything
That search led me to a YouTube video about scripting and journaling. I didn’t know it then, but clicking that video would be game a changer for me. It opened a whole new world where I could process and express my emotions, dream bigger than I ever imagined, and give myself space to be vulnerable.
Journaling became my safe place, my release, and my level headed clarity. It helped me get out of survival mode and into self-awareness.
How Journaling Actually Helped Me
When I started putting my thoughts on paper, I noticed a shift. I felt happier, calmer, and more connected to myself. Journaling became a way for me to express fears I didn’t know how to say out loud, and dreams I wasn’t ready to conquer yet.
Scripting out my reality helped me imagine and write as if the life I wanted already existed. This method of journaling didn’t only open my mindset, it helped me take real steps towards my business and dream life.
Why Journaling Works (Even When You Don’t Know What to Say)
You don’t need to be perfect when journaling, you just need to be honest with yourself and your wants, needs, and desires. Your journal won't judge you or rush you and It doesn’t expect perfection. It holds space for you when you need it and sometimes, that’s all we need to help us get to the clarity we're looking for.
TLDR
Journaling helped me reconnect with myself, rebuild my confidence, and find a sense of direction in my life again. If you’re feeling lost or unsure about where to begin, I hope my story encourages you to give journaling a chance.
